In my opinion, one of the biggest mistake being made in the treatment of chronic pain is IGNORING the nutritional aspect. Many people suffer pain as a result of nutritional deficiencies and imbalances. Patients who are willing to take the necessary steps to improve their dietary habits tend to have the best results. In fact, those who take the appropriate supplements tend to need LESS treatment than those who don't.
In my practice I do nutritional profiles, muscle response testing and lab testing to determine specific needs. I prefer customized supplementation based on individual patient needs, rather than generic.
I am quite willing to teach you healthy dietary practices. But everybody's different -- people have very specific needs. This is where customized nutrition is crucial.
My laboratory test of choice is Tissue Mineral Analysis, which is an inexpensive way to determine deficiencies and imbalances, as well as mineral toxicity. We use small hair samples that are mailed to a laboratory for comprehensive testing. I also recommend saliva testing for hormone levels and other health measurements.
I recommend various nutritional products from various companies. My first choice for many supplements is a company called Nutri-West. They are the manufacturer of many fantastic nutritional products that support the various treatment technologies I utilize in my practice.
