"I found variations of the same story repeated thousand-fold: doctor after doctor, years of misdiagnosis, accusations of hypochondria, hundreds of thousands of dollars exhausted, denial of insurance coverage and, finally if ever, a long road back to health"

- Andy Abrahams Wilson, Director - "Under Our Skin"

UNDER OUR SKIN Senior Producer Kris Newby and filmmaker Andy Abrahams Wilson receive trophies at the International Health & Medical Media Awards.

"At first Lyme disease was thought to be mainly an arthritic illness, but it has become clear that some of its most serious symptoms are neurological and psychiatric"

These symptoms are often persistent and at times resemble chronic fatigue syndrome, multiple sclerosis, and
dementia. Neurological symptoms include disturbed sleep, severe
fatigue, headache, shooting and burning pains, and numbness, tingling, and weakness in various parts of the body... Meningitis and encephalitis may develop.
Common psychiatric symptoms are irritability, panic attacks, depression, suicidal thoughts, fluctuating moods,
and depersonalization. Less common are mania, paranoia, obsessions, compulsions, and occasionally a disorder that resembles schizophrenia.  Cognitive deficits may also occur: short-term memory loss,
word-finding problems, disorientation, loss of motivation, and loss of the ability to sustain attention on tasks.
Children may become so restless and have so much difficulty concentrating that they appear to be developing
attention deficit disorder.

Centers For Disease Control Reports Lyme Rates Have More Than Doubled Since 1991

According to a report in tbe June 15 Morbidity and Mortality Weekly Report.

“The Great Pretender”
Chronic Lyme Disease

How Can Something SO Common... and SO Important
Be Given SO LITTLE Attention?

By Dr. Donald Liebell, D.C., B.C.A.O - a "Lyme Literate Doctor" (LLD)

If you suffer from chronic pain and other debilitating symptoms... and you've been going from doctor to doctor in search of help... this may be the most important article you ever read.  If I hadn't learned myself, what I'm about to share with you right now; my family's health would be rapidly deteriorating, and my three young children would be destined for a life of illness and suffering.

If anybody tells you the story of Lyme disease is part of some wild "conspiracy theory,"  they are entitled to their opinion.  I have no doubts of its truth, and I encourage all doctors and patients to investigate thoroughly and reach their own conclusions.

   Here's what it's all about:

Lyme disease is the most common "insect vector" transmitted disease in America.  It can affect almost any area of your body.  Yet strangely, many believe that recent reports about how common and destructive Lyme disease is, are grossly exaggerated.

   This is frightening to me.

Nevertheless, a small, but growing number of well-informed and concerned physicians and patients are quite certain that it is indeed a serious, unreported, and untreated epidemic.  These same people are also sure that the bacteria (and other parasites) transmitted by the tick that causes Lyme disease are, at least in part the underlying cause for a great many chronic pain and even psychological conditions, which it seems are being misdiagnosed as something else... if they're even diagnosed at all.

If you've been told you have Fibromyalgia Syndrome, Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, Multiple SclerosisAdrenal Burnout Syndrome, an arthritic condition, or even a psychiatric condition... there appears to be reason to suspect that a complex of various micro-organisms, including bacteria, viruses and fungi may be involved.

There has been a pitifully small amount of effort and research put into this topic, which has been recently and eloquently addressed in the Academy Award nominated documentary entitled "Under Our Skin."

The creators of this landmark film (which I have available on DVD at my office), say it "exposes the hidden epidemic of Lyme disease and reveals how our corrupt health care system is failing to address one of the most serious and mysterious illnesses of our time."

Obviously Lyme disease is a controversial topic.  There is little agreement within medical circles, including government contracted health organizations.  Many symptoms may caused  by this controversial and difficult-to-diagnose condition, which some say is "uncommon, but easy to treat."

I have come to understand that many a poor soul has been sent to the psychiatrist; their physicians never considering or believing that the Lyme spirochete bacteria (Borrelia burgdorfi) was at the heart of the problem.

Lyme disease was first considered during the 1970s in the town of Lyme, Connecticut.  It was initially misdiagnosed as juvenile arthritis.  In 1982 a National Institutes of Health scientist, Dr. Willy Burgdorfer discovered a specific bacteria that was the true cause.  It was a spirochete, which is the same type of spiral-shaped microbe that causes syphillis.

   Inconsistent Blood Testing and Diagnosis

Conventional medical tests for Lyme disease have been historically inconsistent.  Treatment with antibiotics has been largely a failure... so much so, that insurance companies will not pay for it in chronic cases.  Plus, the mere subject of Lyme disease itself is controversial.  I have encountered countless patients who have never been tested for it, or have told me that their other physicians refused to test for it, or refused to treat it.  The Centers for Disease Control (CD) have even said that up to 12 times more cases exist than actually reported.  Many doctors who have their "fingers on the pulse" of Lyme disease, think it's even more common.

I consider it my sworn duty to always be on the lookout for Lyme.

I suspect that thousands of local residents could be suffering from the effects of chronic Lyme disease, but never know it.  Four out of the five members of my family (including myself) have had it... but NONE of us ever had signs of a tick, or a tick bite!

In early 2010, our local newspaper, the Virginian Pilot ran a big article about Lyme disease.  Unfortunately it mostly addressed the controversy between physicians over whether or not they should prescribe long-term antibiotics for chronic cases.  In my opinion, they did NOT address the many other crucial aspects of diagnosis and treatment.

It seems clear that even if you don't recall being bitten by a tick (or have a circular rash), you could still have Lyme disease... even if standard blood tests have come up negative... and especially if no other doctors have considered it as  possible diagnosis.

You could have Lyme disease for many years, and never know it!

Plus you might be incorrectly diagnosed with other conditions because of all the possible symptoms.   The bacterial infection of Lyme disease is usually spread by the bite of one of three species of deer ticks that may carry it.  Deer, mice and other rodents can carry these nasty ticks.  It has been also thought that birds might spread it too.  You should also know that when these ticks bite, they can spread MANY different bacteria and other parasites.

If you think you’ve got to go camping or live in a wooded area to contract Lyme disease… guess again!

If you’re fortunate to notice a red, circular “bull’s-eye” rash on your skin, you can effectively get treatment right away.  Early antibiotic therapy could save you years of misery.  Unfortunately, it appears that you can easily become infected by the Lyme bacteria and its co-infections, without even knowing you’ve been bitten.  Not everyone gets the rash.  That’s why many people are clueless that they’ve gotten Lyme disease.  They’ve had it for years, or even decades—undiagnosed and untreated.

None of my family members had any recollection of a tick nor a rash!

Here are some possible symptoms and conditions that some doctors think are associated with chronic Lyme disease:

  • Fibromyalgia: Lyme disease might be your underlying cause
  • Multiple Sclerosis: Lyme Disease may MIMIC some of the symptoms
  • Migrating joint pain
  • Chronic Neck Pain
  • Muscle pains/ muscle twitching
  • Severe headaches/Migraines
  • Excessive fatigue
  • Adrenal Burnout Syndrome
  • Memory Problems
  • Numbness, tingling sensations, paralysis
  • Dyslexia
  • Seizures
  • Irritability
  • Depression
  • Panic Attacks
  • Mood Swings
  • Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD)
  • Sleep Problems
  • Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADD/ADHD)
  • Chills, sweats and skin flushes
  • Tremors
  • Bell’s Palsy optic neuritis
  • Trouble swallowing
  • Distortion of smell or taste
  • speech difficulties Impaired visual/spatial Processing Heart problems/palpitations Knee pain/arthritis Dizziness
Perhaps this all sounds far-fetched to you -- a hoax, or a conspiracy theory.  I suggest you don't pass judgment until you read every word of this article.

A study published in 2002 in the American Journal of Psychiatry, revealed that 33% of the psychiatric patients had signs of Lyme bacterial infection.    Some doctors are also starting to pay attention to the fact that MRI findings of brain lesions that may be caused by Lyme are similar to those of Multiple Sclerosis.  I know that I am!

Keep in mind that many physicians do not even acknowledge the existence of chronic Lyme disease.  That's a HUGE part of the controversy, or perhaps as some think, the "cover up."  In other words, if the standard blood tests don’t reveal the presence of the bacteria—Lyme may not be considered as a diagnosis.  Plus, if a person does show positive blood tests, receives antibiotics, and upon re-testing shows negative... it is often assumed that the disease is gone for good.  There are many doctors who simply say that chronic Lyme disease does not exist.

Is this not pure DENIAL?  Have we learned nothing from history?  Aren't there many diseases that need ongoing treatment?  Diseases that "fly under the radar" of medical diagnostic technology?

If you learn nothing more from this article, remember this:

Wrong Diagnosis + Wrong Treatment = You Don’t Get Well

I am thoroughly convinced that Lyme disease is frequently UN-diagnosed!  Why?  There are several reasons.  For starters, if my wife, Sheila had not insisted that a local doctor order a blood test for Lyme; it would have NEVER been likely considered!

What's even scarier is that conventionally accepted laboratory tests are inconclusive and inconsistent, especially with chronic cases.  There are several blood tests (ELISA and Western Blot) that may be performed, but they often give falsely negative results.  At least when these tests do come up positive, it does accurately confirm the diagnosis.

However this is not good enough.

Consider the fact that a 2005 Johns Hopkins research study revealed that the conventionally endorsed testing procedure for Lyme disease misses a whopping 75% of positive Lyme cases!

Perhaps you'll agree with me that it is quite odd that both the National Institute of Health and the Centers for Disease Control do not acknowledge the existence of CHRONIC Lyme disease.  My question is, if it is commonly not detectable by blood test... and there's no evidence to suggest that it goes away on its own...

What in the world happens to it?

When I first heard claims about how common Lyme disease is, I too thought perhaps it was an exaggeration.

   Not anymore.

I've become convinced that there are legions of people who are suffering from the effects of Lyme disease, who need comprehensive medical treatment, which includes and integrative and holistic treatment.  Many a patient has told me that they were tested for Lyme, but the blood tests said they didn’t have it... so it was ignored.   Some physicians diagnose Lyme by correlating symptoms with medical history, and the certain knowledge of a tick bite.

Conventional Medical Treatment

My investigation into the topic has told me that when treated right away with antibiotics, the Lyme disease bacteria (Borrelia) may be killed off.  It usually takes several weeks.  But most sources agree that antibiotics are not effective for later stages of the disease.  Some medical experts say that the bacteria can hide from the medication or change forms to stay in your system.

Another problem is that a large percentage of Lyme victims don’t get tested or treated fast enough.  The result is chronic Lyme disease, which is really hard to diagnose with conventional medical lab testing.  The antibiotics often fail once the disease is long established in your body.  Many physicians do not recommend antibiotic treatment for the late stages of the disease, and simply don’t treat it at all.  Insurance companies will not pay for long-term treatment since there's little evidence that it works (plus it has serious risks).

In my opinion, the worst part us that many doctors do not even acknowledge the existence of chronic Lyme disease.  If a patient’s blood test is positive prior to antibiotic therapy, and negative thereafter, some doctors consider it “cured.”  Yet many people continue to suffer from various symptoms, despite supposedly effective treatment.

Does this sound like a “cure” to you?  Does it seem to you that that the blood tests are missing something?

    Metals, Molds and Medicine

One of the major pitfalls of antibiotic therapy is that it can cause fungal overgrowth.  Killing off harmful bacteria is great—but the trade-off is having a “fungus among us.”  Fungi can be as bad or worse than bacteria!  Antibiotics also may not kill all the Borrelia (Lyme disease bacteria), as they are capable of changing forms to hide from the medicine attack.  Plus, merely bombing the bacteria is not nearly enough.  There are many accompanying toxins, viruses and molds involved.  Heavy metals such as aluminum tend to accumulate in the presence of Lyme disease.

Nutritional components must be addressed too.  Fortunately there are various detoxification approaches available.  I favor the homeopathic detox approach for its safety, low cost and ease of implementation.  The homeopathic approach is magnificent for warding off the toxins caused by bacteria, fungi and viral components as well, by energetically boosting your immune response (rather than directly trying to chemically kill an infectious organism, which is a job for conventional medicine).

In additional, Cold Laser Therapy is proving to be a terrific advancement in detoxification.  Unfortunately, for the few physicians who are even aware of it at all, even fewer know how powerful laser treatment can be for detoxification (it’s mostly used for pain relief and muscular rehabilitation).

   Sweets and Swelling

I can’t stress enough the significance of fungi with regards to Lyme disease, and for that matter general health.  As I already mentioned, the Borrelia bacteria just love to have a fungus among us.  Molds and yeasts are a monumental problem to begin with—even without the presence of Lyme.  Fungi are largely ignored by our health care system in general.  But I believe no doctor can effectively help a patient with Lyme disease (and many other conditions) without addressing the fungal component.

When it comes to controlling fungi, it is critical to avoid sugar, and artificial sugar substitutes.  It’s old news that these substances suppress your immune system, contributing to fungal overgrowth, which in turn results in inflammation.

What’s worse is the frightening popularity of artificial sweeteners, particularly Splenda (sucralose) and NutraSweet (aspartame).  These are TOXIC nightmares, which in my opinion should not be consumed by anybody!  I instruct all of my patients to eliminate them immediately.  The only sweetener I advocate is the natural herb, Stevia, which is readily available in supermarkets.

Don’t take my word for it; artificial sweeteners are evil.  At the end of this article I have links to videos and other vital information.  Do your homework—search the Internet and learn the truth about artificial sweeteners.

Are You a Lyme Disease “Carrier”?

My suspicion is that one can have the Borrelia bacteria swimming around in the bloodstream, but not have full-fledged Lyme disease.  If your immune system is strong enough, microbes can be kept under control.  Keep in mind that there are people who test HIV positive, who do NOT develop AIDS.

There are also typically several co-infections that accompany the Borrelia bacteria.  I have personally had Borrelia in my system, but didn’t develop Lyme disease.

I think most people will agree that insufficient medical investigation into Lyme disease has taken place.  It appears that insurance companies will not pay the huge costs of ongoing antibiotic therapy, which of course is a subject that continues to be hotly debated amongst doctors.

   What Can We Do?

In my practice, I treat people who have suffered chronic pain and ill health for many years—long after the likelihood that any antibiotic therapy would be effective (or possibly long ago administered without success).  The toxins from Lyme can affect your central nervous system.  These neuro-toxins can cause concentration difficulties (maybe they're sometimes misdiagnosed as Attention Deficit or other psychological disorders), depression and anxiety.  Major glands including the Pineal, Pituitary and Hypothalamus can have their function disrupted too.  These aspects must be addressed!

Many "Lyme literate" doctors agree that there is an under-reported epidemic, which is the actual underlying cause or trigger for many chronic illnesses that are given a different diagnosis or label.  I am certain that Fibromyalgia syndrome is a major example.  Could it be that people who are suffering with conditions like Multiple Sclerosis, Parkinson’s disease, arthritic conditions and countless others are infected by the Borrelia bacteria of Lyme disease?

Perhaps more physicians ought to open their eyes and ears to the possibility.

I treat people; not diseases.  While I most certainly help many people who have Lyme, I do NOT treat the disease itself in the direct medical sense.  My expertise lies in holistic health care.  None of my treatment approaches should or could be construed as treatment for any infectious disease.  It's not even within the scope of my practice.  In fact, I advise all patients who consult with me to pursue conventional medical testing for Lyme disease, if I suspect it.  Sadly, I find the majority of people are faced with a dead-end struggle for cooperation (and ineffective antibiotic therapy), as they discover that very few, if any doctors they work with will even acknowledge CHRONIC Lyme disease as a possibility.  Many patients will be laughed at, scolded or mocked for even suggesting it—not to mention that some “alternative medicine doctor” told them to get tested for Lyme!

I began this article by telling you that my wife and children were victims of Lyme disease.  Their recovery has been the result not of antibiotics, but rather complementary and alternative medicine, specifically homeopathy (which is poorly understood by most Americans, but used successfully worldwide).  I now employ the same methods by which my family regained their health, to help my patients

Complementary and Alternative Medical Treatment

There are some health care providers who use complementary and alternative medicine (CAM) in addition to antibiotics, or as the sole treatment approach.  In my practice, I routinely consult with people who have been diagnosed with conditions such as Multiple Sclerosis, Fibromyalgia and Chronic Fatigue Syndrome.  People with these conditions and others are advised to be tested for Lyme disease through traditional laboratory blood tests, as well as other important methods (which I will discuss later on).

I am thoroughly convinced that a great many people with these conditions are at least in part, affected by Borrelia—the Lyme bacteria… despite what blood tests do NOT reveal.

Sadly, both the diagnosis and treatment of Lyme disease remains controversial throughout the conventional medical community.  There is substantial disagreement between doctors and researchers.  I think that practitioners of complementary and alternative medicine (CAM) generally offer a different opinion.  Those of us who have something to offer beyond only antibiotics, agree that Lyme disease is WAY more common than most authorities believe.  Many of us have had experience with effective treatment.  Lyme disease is controversial enough without the additional issue of drugless health care methods added to the mix!  Let's face it: we're talking about health care methods that receive little or no research funding, which is why they get the label “alternative” in the first place.

For example, I utilize various methods that are geared towards supporting your immune system and  nervous system; to boost your body's ability to function.  This means that by traditional medical definition, I do not directly treat Lyme disease.

My experience has revealed to my patients and me that that most Lyme disease patients have many problems with their joints, nerves, muscles, tendons and ligaments that need to be addressed.  I evaluate and use specialized methods to treat the spine, the nervous system and the immune system, as part of a holistic approach.  I use various  homeopathic remedies to support physical and energetic treatments, including Auricular therapy (Needle-Free European Ear Acupuncture), and  Cold Laser therapy.

Obviously none of these methods are a treatment for Lyme disease, by the strict medical definition.  And perhaps few doctors want to open their eyes and even acknowledge these proven approaches altogether, let alone to help a person with Lyme disease.

Lyme disease is a complex condition that has MANY components, co-infections and consequences that must be addressed by a variety of approaches.  I am not an infectious disease specialist, nor do I prescribe medication (Remember that I recommend every patient I see to seek multiple medical opinions -- and quit any of this "conventional" vs "alternative" health care nonsense that is only harming the public).

I utilize Bio-energetic Medicine as a complementary and supportive measure to boost your health.  I’ve devoted an entire article regarding this approach.  You can find a link to that article at the end of this one.

How Did I Come to My Knowledge of Helping Lyme Disease?

It appeared that my wife, Sheila had tried everything that traditional and alternative medicine could offer.  But despite some improvements, she still was plagued by significant fatigue, mood swings, joint pain, heart palpitations, and memory problems.  The frustration of not being able to adequately help my own wife was unbearable for both of us.

What was I missing?  What were all the other doctors missing?

Nobody, including myself had considered Lyme.  It was something I learned about briefly in school, a long time ago.  Plus, Sheila wouldn't be "caught dead" camping in the woods, nor did she have any recollection of a tick or a circular rash.

Nevertheless, we decided to test for it.  But it wasn't a blood test that was the key to her freedom from Lyme disease; it was a magnificent bio-energetic approach called Auricular Medicine.   This sophisticated, European-developed approach was our solution.  In less than two months, her recovery was extraordinary.

I must also point out that I too had the Lyme bacteria in my system, as did my 8-year-old daughter and my 10-year old son.  Sheila had Lyme disease for many years, and apparently the Borrelia bacteria of Lyme can be passed on to a baby through mother's milk.  I had taken my kids camping in the past (needless to say, they don't want to go anymore!).

Of course I absolutely had to become expert in the same methods that restored my family's healthI am proud to use these holistic approaches along with sensible and ethical referral to medical doctors who may choose to prescribe antibiotics, to help people with chronic pain, fatigue, memory loss, or any of the many symptoms listed in this article... in many cases, which appear to be at least in part, caused by previously undiagnosed Lyme disease

In addition to structural treatments, I utilize safe and inexpensive homeopathic detoxification and immune system support.  I determine my patients’ customized needs through Bio-Energetic Testing.  An entire article on this website is devoted to explaining this method (Auricular Medicine).   Keep in mind that even though I have little confidence in the results, I still advise my patients to have traditional blood testing for Lyme disease (Western Blot and ELISA).  I maintain an account with LabCorp, which is the premier laboratory diagnostic company, with convenient local offices.

Imagine the possibility that your chronic pain, fatigue, fibromyalgia, thyroid problems, adrenal burnout, acid reflux, headaches, joint pain, and psycho-emotional problems have a microscopic bacterial component.  Wouldn’t you want to know about it right away, and pursue help—from informed and skilled health professionals, who actually acknowledge and understand chronic Lyme disease and its related conditions… professionals who know and use effective treatment methods?

I have written this article knowing that the general attitude of our health care system towards chronic Lyme disease is principally one of denial.  There is even a malicious attitude towards practitioners such as myself, who take strides to unravel the mysteries of chronic pain and illness by addressing the possibility of Lyme.  The harsh reality is that doctors who spend lots of time with patients (typically specialists in complementary and alternative medicine) don’t “rake in the big bucks.”  I consider myself a “detective” whose job is to solve a health mystery by thinking “out of the box” as the expression goes.  To do so requires a lot of time, knowledge, patience, skill and desire to really make a big difference in people’s lives.  And how could I not; this is the approach that got my family well from Lyme.

I think there’s little doubt that antibiotics have produced poor results when used as a stand-alone treatment for Lyme disease, especially that of the chronic variety.  An integrative approach that consists of multiple holistic, natural and immune system-boosting protocols is a must.  Consider this: on his deathbed, the great Louis Pasteur, known for the “germ theory” of disease, said that “the microbe is nothing—the terrain is everything.”  I hope more doctors will join me by focusing on the terrain, in addition to just the microbe.  This means devoting the majority of their attention to boosting the body’s defenses—the immune system.  This is the focus of my approach using homeopathic medicine, specialized acupuncture, and structural Treatments.

When physicians do not accumulate (or attempt to) evidence for Lyme disease, they may tell their patients that they certainly do not have Lyme.  Yet they often don’t say what they DO have.  Lyme disease is not a trivial matter to be blown off.  I am mystified that it is known in medical circles that Lyme disease can mimic literally dozens of diagnosed conditions—yet it seems to be rarely considered and/or meticulously investigated.  It is not a minor problem to be scoffed at by ignorant professionals who perhaps believe that their credentials and years of experience mean that they “know it all.”

For now, doctors like me may be considered renegades or “heretics” within the medical world.  But the question is, who are we supposed to be serving?  Other doctors?  The government?

   Hardly.

I know the inside story of Lyme disease.  But make no mistake; I treat patients, not test results, microbes or diseases.  If you’ve gotten the idea that I claim to directly treat infectious diseases or that I directly treat Borrelia bacteria, fungi, viruses or any other micro-organism… forget about it.  Get it out of your head...

I DO NOT TREAT LYME DISEASE.

Yes, I know that this sounds weird, paranoid and perhaps contradictory... a matter of terminology, but it is not.  It's a serious thing.  There's a big difference between a doctor treating a disease and a doctor treating a PERSON to enable them to fight disease. Lyme is a political disease.  As you will see in the documentary, "Under Our Skin," medical physicians who are prescribing long term antibiotics are under savage attack for trying to treat people who are desperate for help.  Insurance companies won't pay for treatment for a disease that is not officially recognized.  Nor will they pay for such treatment, which has proven to be ineffective, temporary in results and quite risky (the insurance companies actually have a point!).

These caring medical doctors are in the center of this hideous and sickening controversy.  They wish to use the only weapon they seem to know: antibiotics.  I, on the other hand, need not participate in that ugliness, since I do not prescribe antibiotics.  The insurance companies aren't worried about the "chump change" involved with my types of holistic treatments.  It's no threat to their "bottom line."

I utilize Bio-energetic methods such as complex homeopathy, ear and hand acupuncture to complement structural corrections, to treat entire human beings.  I passionately declare that a full integrative health care approach is necessary.  This means combining methods like these mentioned with traditional blood tests and in some cases, antibiotics prescribed by medical doctors.

Lyme disease is real.  It’s under-reported, under-diagnosed, under-treated mis-treated and severely mis-understood.  It is my mission to inform and assist those poor souls who are suffering.

I have taken on the burden of fighting for people with chronic Lyme disease, in my own way.  If you find that no other doctors will acknowledge the possibility that you have the Lyme disease bacteria, Borrelia in your blood stream; that is unfortunate.  I am not informing the public to use only so-called “alternative medicine.”  I recommend comprehensive medical testing and multiple opinions.  It happens to be the case that a large percentage of people my colleagues and I treat will NOT be acknowledged for this condition by traditional physicians.

There shouldn’t be a need for you to feel torn between conventional and alternative medical approaches; they should complement each other.

I urge you to watch the videos below.  Also, ask me about a viewing the DVD of the Oscar-nominated Lyme disease documentary, “Under Our Skin” at my office or at home.  This groundbreaking film exposes the truth about Lyme disease.  I caution you however, that this film only shows the tragedy of Lyme and does not discuss the effective treatments, such as homeopathy that have been helping people get their lives back... without constantly being on long term antibiotics.  Nevertheless, it is a must-see film.  I've included several video excerpts from the film at the bottom of this page.
